Northallerton 100kW

Farmer James Sanderson was so impressed with the performance of the 50kW solar PV system installed by NWT Solar on his pig farm in North Yorkshire last year that he asked NWT to install a further 50kW on his free range poultry building on another part of the 220 acre holding.

Realising how much electricity we’ve saved and payments we’ve received from the feed in tariff scheme, I was extremely keen to maximise on this technology not only because of the financial benefits to our business but also for the farming industry’s commitment to cut carbon emissions.

Solar PV has been a great way for farmers and land managers to mitigate climate change whilst generating new income for their business. You need to grasp every opportunity to ensure you remain profitable and sustainable, in this changing economic and environmental climate.
